With the increased convenience provided by networks, the internet, and email comes increased risks.  Viruses present a real and on-going threat to your computers.  Malicious hackers try to steal information off of people’s computers when they are connected to the internet.  Even in your own office, employees may intentionally or accidentally get into information and files you would rather they didn’t see.  While it may not be possible to eliminate the risk of these issues, there are things that we can do to help you greatly reduce your risk.  From anti-virus solutions, to firewalls, to increased internal security, we can help you protect your information.
Network Administration used to be a term that only big companies with mainframes and lots of computers used.  At Pantheon Computer Systems we see network administration as covering four key areas, and nearly every business today is concerned with at least one, if not all of these areas.  Whether it's Connectivity Issues, Server Administration, Backup and Recovery, or Security that you’re interested in, we can help.  Whatever your business, large or small, industrial, professional, government, or non-profit, Pantheon’s staff is equipped to help you with your Network Administration.
Even small offices are learning the benefits of having a dedicated server on their network, and are finding it to be a more and more cost effective solution for their business.  The benefits range from greater stability on your network, to much better security, to increased efficiency in communication and data sharing.  Adding a dedicated server does however, bring an added level of complexity.  Pantheon Computer Systems staff is here to assist you and make sure you get the most out of your server.  We specialize in Microsoft based servers, but are also familiar with Novell and Linux.  Perhaps your business runs on a peer-to-peer network, and you don’t have a dedicated server.  There are still some tricks we know to help you get the most out of your computers.  Let us help you make sure your computers are working for you and not the other way around.
Connectivity issues cover a broad spectrum, from how do I get my one computer on the internet, to how do I get 150 computers to communicate with one another.  We focus these issues into three areas: Internet issues, LAN issues, and WAN issues.

Internet:
The internet has become an invaluable tool for every business today, but we can get overwhelmed by all the terms and technology involved.  What kind of a connection should I get?  How do I share that connection across multiple computers?  What is the best way to do email?  Should I host my own website?  Do I need static IP addresses?  We are here to make sense out of the chaos and to help make the complex simple, so you can access all that you need on the internet with as many computers as you want.

Network (LAN):  Having a computer on every desk in your office doesn’t guarantee efficiency and productivity.  Efficient operation comes from how you setup your network to share files, printers, programs, or internet.  On larger networks, the way data is routed can make a big difference in the speed at which you get things done.  Our technicians are experienced in helping you get the most out of whatever type of network you have.

Network (WAN):  In our increasingly mobile society more and more people are doing their work on the road or from home, with laptops and PDA’s.  The question that arises is “How do I access the information on the computers at work while I’m on the go?”  Maybe for you, working on the go means working out of multiple offices.  How do you access the information you need from whichever office you are at?  We are here to help you solve these issues.
What would happen to your business if all the information on your computer was gone tomorrow, and you couldn’t get it back?  Many businesses today don’t have a good backup and recovery plan in place, and risk this very situation.  The sad thing is, many businesses think their data is being backed up only to find that they are backing up the wrong information, or doing it wrong.  We can help you design and implement an effective and reliable backup and recovery plan so you can have the confidence that you will never come to work to find you’ve lost all of your information.
